Whether their motives are false or genuine, the message about Christ is being preached either way, so I rejoice. – Philippians 1:18b
When the gospel is preached, I should rejoice regardless of who is the messenger. Paul is clear in his other letters that there are false gospels. So we’re not to blindly rejoice at all so-called gospel preaching. But we’re not to be so snobby that true gospel preaching, that’s not our ‘style’, isn’t something to rejoice over.
God, help me to rejoice every time I hear your gospel message faithfully preached. Amen.
